Google Sites Video Tutorial

There are many teachers at my school using Google Sites to create their class pages. I decided to put together this video tutorial to help them get started. If you are outside of our domain, you will need to substitute your own information…

UPDATE: I’ve created an online course for Google Sites using Moodle. You can take the course by going here.

I am teaching a teaching and learning with technology class to preservice teachers in a COE. I was going to teach Google Page Creator but got the messages that it was going to be discontinued. Yours was the only step by step tutorial where I could learn this new tool myself prior to teaching it to my class. Thanks so much

This tutorial was fantastic. I was pulling my hair out yesterday trying to figure out how to set up a Google web site and was unable to find any documentation that was worth anything. Your tutorial has answered many of my questions and I very much appreciate it.

Josh,
I’m glad you found the tutorial helpful. I appreciate your comment! When you get your site created, let me know…I’d love to see it!

hi there
is Google site better for me as an online shop then page creator
thanks

Hey Erez,
First, thanks for the comment. Google Sites is the eventual replacement for Google pages. In my opinion, Google Sites is extremely flexible in that you can add many different types of pages to your site and it’s incredibly easy to use. I would say that Google Sites would would just fine as an online shop for your business.

can I take the moodle course free? Is there any tax?
Thank you very much from Spain, where I teach Educational technology

Angel,
First of all, thanks for coming to my blog. You can ABSOLUTELY take the Moodle course on Google Sites for FREE! This is a resource I created for my teachers at my school, but is open to the world. So, yes, please take the course. If you have any suggestions for me, please let me know.

I just wanted to thank you for making this accessible. I am going to pass it on to my colleagues and students. We have just started creating Google sites, but there is so much we still need to learn. This tutorial is exactly what I need.
Thanks again!

Racquel,
Thank you for coming by the blog. I’m glad that you found the Google Sites Tutorial useful. Might I also suggest exposing everyone to the Google Sites Moodle course I created. It’s free and goes more in depth than the 12 minute tutorial did. You can reach this online course at http://chol.citrushightechnology.com. Again, registration is free and there is NO CHARGE for the course, so please spread this URL around. I want to share this with as many people as I can! Thanks again for coming by and if you haven’t already done so, please consider subscribing to my RSS feed at http://feeds.feedburner.com/ThoughtsFromATechnologySpecialist. Take care.

I found your tutorial while experimenting with creating a Google Site for a course I’m taking. Your tutorial is excellent. I’m trying to check out your Moodle class, too.

Hey there,

Thanks for this awesome tutorial and post! If you don’t mind, I’m going to write a short follow-up post and include this link into a Google Sites Template/Design Competition we’re hosting over at CodeKindness.org, http://codekindness.org/blog/google_sites_design_competition/ to help produce an exemplar template for other organizations to learn from.

Perhaps some of your readers might be interested in entering? Anyhow, we’ll be sure to include a link to your tutorial as well…

Cheers,
–Dave / CK
