The Visible Body – human body visualization tool

I found this last night. It is truly amazing. When you attempt to run it for the first time, you will be asked to install an ActiveX control. A yellow (beige) bar will appear at the top of your browser, click it, then select Install…it’s so worth it…

From the site:
The Visible Body is the most comprehensive human body visualization tool available on the market today. With the Visible Body, you can:

* Search for and locate anatomical structures by name.

* Hide, rotate, see through, and explore parts of human anatomy.

* Move the model in three-dimensional space.

* Zoom in and out.

* Click on systems or structures to make them transparent or hide them.

* Click on anatomical structures to reveal names.

I could see this used in a variety of ways here in the high school. Of course, this will be used by science teachers, but Physical Education teachers and Health teachers would definitely benefit from a resource like this.
